No. Unlike our leg and underarm hairs, dermaplanning will not cause your facial hair to grow back thicker or darker. Only changes in hormones can alter hair growth. 

How often should I schedule dermaplanning appointments? 

If you want to stay consistent with dermaplanning sessions, our estheticians will recommend scheduling another appointment within the next six weeks or so. The results of dermaplanning do not last forever or as long as laser hair removal would. 

Can’t I just do this at home to myself? 

While you have likely heard about “at-home dermaplanning,” it is not the same. Only a certified professional should perform dermaplanning, and it is not advised to use an at-home kit. Plus, you will not receive the same benefits as having a professional perform dermaplanning on you. 

Does Dermaplanning hurt? 

Dermaplanning is a painless, chemical-free procedure that lasts less than one hour. While some people complain of redness and sensitive skin afterward, the actual procedure does not hurt. How you react after will depend on the sensitivity of your skin.
