Prepare for a lengthy discussion with one of our experienced Kansas City plastic surgeons about your motivations and what you want to accomplish through your breast augmentation procedure. If you are younger and have always been deficient in your breast volume, you will have different motivating factors and may desire a different type of result. For example, younger women tend to want more upper-pole fullness. However, some women desire a more natural result.
You will need to have a long enough discussion so that our plastic surgeon understands what you are looking for, why you want to undergo surgery, and what type of procedure will meet your expectations and desired look. Once we fully understand what you want to accomplish, we can start crafting a personalized plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.
It is critical to be honest with your plastic surgeon and share your real desire in terms of results. It is also helpful to provide guidance for your surgeon on your desired cup size. Do you want to go from an A to a C, or are they already a C and they want to go to a double D? Again, it is important to share your perspective on exactly what you want to accomplish, where you’re starting and where you want to finish, how much upper pole fullness you want, how much lateral fullness, and just everything related to shape, in terms of what you desire.
You should know your complete health history, as you must fill out a health history questionnaire as part of your pre-operative paperwork. If you have any photos showcasing your desired results, they can be helpful to bring to your initial breast augmentation consultation and share with your plastic surgeon. Many of our Kansas City patients create a specific photo album on their phone of women they want to look like, women in bathing suits that showcase their ideal breasts, or even women who have had breast augmentation with pre- and post-op results.

Typically, our breast augmentation consultations in Kansas City take around 30- 40 minutes. One of our plastic surgeons will spend 15 to 20 minutes with you discussing everything mentioned above, as well as taking initial photos of your breasts. Then, they will spend another 15 to 20 minutes with the nurse or patient coordinator to help size your implants and let you try them on with a sports bra to ensure you are satisfied with the shape and size.
